Boundaries

Boundaries is a reflective piece inspired by Jill’s time sketching on Garn Fawr, near John Piper’s cottage, nestled under the hill overlooking the Preseli Hills. Lying in the grass, she captured the landscape’s natural harmony, listening to the distant cries of seabirds. The painting conveys the interplay between natural and human-made boundaries, with sweeping landforms and delicate details evoking a sense of peace and connection to the earth.
 
Created with mixed media on primed board, the work blends watercolour, pastel, and crayon to produce a textured, layered composition. Framed in a 6cm-wide flat wood frame with a natural tone, the finished dimensions of 69cm x 66cm allow the piece to command attention while inviting contemplation.
