Spring and Crow
Spring and Crow captures the quiet solitude of Jill’s favourite track, far from the noise of roads and human activity. The path winds between farm buildings and overgrown shrubs, their tangled branches alive with early hints of spring. Painted in a harmonious palette of greens, siennas, and umbers, the scene is rich with texture and atmosphere, evoking the earthy scent of the season’s awakening.
The composition brims with movement as raw trees and hedgerows seem to sway in a gentle breeze. Beyond the rusting gate, a modest house and outbuilding sit beneath a soft spring-green hill. Perched on a branch, a solitary crow surveys its surroundings, adding both character and narrative to the piece. Framed in wide limed wood with an exhibition mount and non-reflective glass, this 53cm x 35cm artwork offers an intimate and atmospheric glimpse into the rural landscape.
